Michael C. Lancer
Michael C. Lancer is the firm's managing attorney. He has held this position since 2012, when he joined Collins & Collins. Prior to that, he was a partner in multiple personal injury defense firms. Michael also served as a staff counsel attorney for 10 years to a major property/casualty insurance company. In all, he has practiced law as a trial attorney for over 20 years.
Michael began his legal career as an officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG). He served for 10 years, attaining the rank of major. Since leaving the Army, Michael has been a dedicated advocate for various veteran causes, serving as a mentor in Buffalo's ground-breaking Veterans Treatment Court from its inception in 2008. He has served as the founding Co-Chair of both the New York State Bar Association's Committee of Veteran Affairs, and the Erie County Bar Association's Committee on Veterans' & Service-members' Legal Issues. He was an advisor to Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul on veteran-related issues when Ms. Hochul served as a Congresswoman representing New York's 26 District. He was a founding board member of the One- Stop Center of WNY, Inc.
Michael specializes his law practice on representing injured individuals in a variety of cases, including: construction accidents; railroad accidents; auto/ trucking accidents; premises accidents; claims against insurance companies; and other personal injury claims.
Michael graduated cum laude from SUNY Stony Brook in 1997, and obtained his legal degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1992. He has been named a Super Lawyer each year from 2010 up to the present, and received a client satisfaction award from the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys in 2015.
